The control program does not get any connection to the Avira Server real-time scanner service, although all rights are available.
No active "Avira Server Real-time Scanner" service was found on this computer or you do not have sufficient permissions!
The control program uses named pipes to communicate with the Avira service. This is an RPC mechanism, i. the corresponding protocols, ports, and shares must exist and be open.
If no connection is established, this can have several causes:
- Check if the computer name is correct. If you want a local connection, just select 'Select Computer'. 'one (one point). This means "local computer".
- Check if the network is working. After unplugging the network cable, the local connection will not work anymore. For more information, see article Q117270 of the Microsoft Knowledgebase.
- Check if the release "IPC $" is present. If you delete this share, a named pipe connection can no longer be established. To check whether the corresponding share exists, please open a command prompt (Console) and enter the following command:
net use \\ servername \ IPC $
If this command succeeds, the IPC $ file is present.
If you have activated the Internet Connection Firewall on the server, please check if the port 445 (RPC) is enabled.
